At age 8, Duane began his rodeo career in the Little Britches Rodeos, and continued on through the Little Britches ranks on into high school. During his youth he rode bulls and saddle broncs in the U.R.A.

He began fighting bulls at the age of 16 for jackpot rodeos. He was approved as a bull fighter and contract act by the I.R.A. in 1978. He proceeded to fight bulls and perform acts for the next 7 years with the Buffington Rodeo Co. covering most of the upper midwestern US and Canada. In 1982 he was voted to fight bulls at the IRA Central Regional Finals.

He retired from Bull Fighting in 1985, now, after 15 years.....He's Back!!!
